Manila: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, met with Maria Teresa Lázaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, on the sidelines of the third Oman-Philippines Forum in Manila.
They reviewed the friendly relations and cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines and discussed ways to enhance bilateral partnership in various areas of mutual interest, contributing to the shared interests of the two friendly countries.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the Oman-Philippines Forum as a strategic platform that promotes institutional dialogue and opens new horizons for cooperation between the two governments, the private sector, and academic institutions.
The forum supports partnerships in trade, investment, logistics, tourism, energy, and technology, and aligns with the aspirations for sustainable and inclusive development.
Both sides commended the ongoing development of bilateral relations, emphasizing that mutual trust and human ties, particularly the contributions of the Filipino community in the Sultanate of Oman, are fundamental pillars for deepening and expanding cooperation in the coming period.
The two ministers discussed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening security, stability, and peace.
They stressed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to ensure free and safe navigation and supply chains along maritime and trade routes.
The meeting was attended by Nasser bin Said Al-Manwari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of the Philippines, and several officials from both sides.
